Aubrey Graham famously known for his great performance as Jimmy Brooks on the teen drama show Degrassi has just become a new rapper and hit sensation. Not only is he known right now for his lyrical talent but for being a very humble, down to earth gentlemen. Even old rap superstar Queen Latifah complimented the new artist as being very refreshing and giving women that good feeling while listening to his music, unlike many other rappers.
But his new video "Best I Ever Had" has a lot of people speaking and many women disgusted by the overwhelming display of breasts all throughout the video.
I myself am a fan of Drake and have been listening to him before people even knew he was a rapper. He is very positive in his music and demeanor, but this new video has pushed the limit. It is really hard to focus on anything else except for these women's breasts bouncing up and down throughout the entire video. The concept of the video is pretty good and actually entertaining, it is not like every other video with random women strutting in bikinis. I feel it would have been just perfect without the display of boobs, even with the occasional girl on girl stretching.
Take a look at this video and please tell me what you think. Below the video, there is an interview with Drake and Complex magazine, stating how he felt about the video. If you click on the link you will be on Drake's blog and will be able to read much more from this interesting interview.
Complex: Everyone’s been waiting on this video. Can you take us through the making of it?
Drake: Yeah. The video is directed by Kanye West. Basically we decided, as opposed to taking ourselves super serious, we just wanted to have some fun with it. Myself, being a young man, a young single man at that, I kind of wanted to be real about the way I function with women at this current point in my life. Which is, I don’t have one woman that I call my girl. There’s different girls in my life that play different roles and I see at different times, but collectively they kind of make up the roster of happiness for me [Laughs].
Complex: Understandable. So what’s the concept?
Drake: The concept of the video is, I’m a coach at a high school and the girls of my life are all on my high school basketball team. Throughout the video you see us prepping for this big championship game, and my team ends up losing. You see the looks on their faces at the end of the video, but the moral of the story, I guess, is win or lose, you can still be the best to somebody. When women see the video and see all the breast and ass, hopefully they don’t take offense. Hopefully they see the real meaning.

btw i love ur blog...
anyways drake needs to shut up and go sit somewhere
what does big bouncing boobs have to do with what he is saying?? and he is their coach.. a little creepy. anyways lol wow we have no good rappers now a day. i am officially not a fan of drake anymore
i agree with the comment above. i still support drake as an artist, but i feel like this overnight success thing is happening at an extremely fast rate for him and I'm just hoping that he doesnt conform just like the other goons...and by goons, I mean rappers like Lil' Wayne...and even Nelly (ex. Tip Drill). He has shown a side of himself originally that people could easily support and relate to...but this video shows that he might be just like the rest.
And aside from this topic...I have to disagree with the comment above as well. There are GREAT rappers there...if you STOP turning on the radio to stations like Hot 97 to find your hip hop...like Souljah Boy or T-Pain.
Here's a healthy diet JUST to start with:
Nas,
Lupe Fiasco,
The Cool Kids,
Q-Tip,
Mos Def,
Lino
G-Eazy
I kno of Drake from Degrassi...nd I've never heard of his songs before this one...and I was feeling the lyrics...and tryin to place it with the video...and i was like oh ok...so the whole team is the best (yea im pretty dumb...lol jk)
And reading those few sentences was just a complete turn off...Number one Kanye is def on my crap list rite now...so to see the video and then to see that he directed it....od eye roll....And then to read that Drake wanted to video to portray the way he sees women now...i do believe was wat he sed makes me upset...Like for real? Looks and sounds like the most sexist thing ever...i wuld never allow my daughter or son for that matter listen to half of the mainstream hip hop, rap, and rnb that we have today...SMH
(nd guyz sorry for the slang...i didnt feel like writin all proper...lol)
Yea Corina, It's really ashame how far rappers and others have gone in their videos. Just the fact that people don't blink twice when seeing a video of this manner(but im sure in this case people couldn't stop blibking).
I myself used to watch all those booty shaking videos and not any problem with it watsoever! I would tell my parents that it was just the times, and a girl shaking her a** in a bikini is sumthin normal...Well it's not.
If you saw sumtin like that in person ud think she was a ho and certainly not have respect for her which is what many people think of these women, but yet they make solid professions out of this which completely boggles my mind.
I love Drake and his music. I think he's talented, humble, and not to mention very cute, and I pray like Brandon says that he doesn't turn into a "goon" like these other rappers.
